While this certainly isn’t the worst idea ever, there are way better uses of your time.

  1. Take a look at your nutrition. Having visible abdominal muscles has much more to do with what you’re putting into your body than training itself. In order to have visible abs, you must have a low enough body fat. In order to decrease your body fat, you must create a caloric deficit in your diet. Now, exercise can be a tool to help get you there, but it’s a hell of a lot easier to just eat less.
  2. Train heavy. Build something worth revealing. Incorporate heavy compound lifts into your training. Train the core primarily by bracing and resisting movement at the spine.
  3. Sprinkle in some leg raises (or whatever your favorite flexion exercises might be) at the end of your training session. Chances are you’re not going to build those “6-pack abs” doing Ab Ripper X every day of your life. Believe me, I tried. From ages 14-16, I did nothing, but that. Didn’t work.
